I was chatting with a friend who just started a health and beauty product business. She explained to me that everywhere she had taken her product to, people didn't want to buy, most people said no they weren't interested or promised to get back to her but they didn't and now she lacks confidence in the product and wants to look for something else to do.

Some people can relate to this and truthfully, One of the reasons why new business fail is a lack of confidence in their product our services after they have been rejected. When someone tells you "no," it doesn't mean your product is not good, or it doesn't mean you can't do something, it simply means you can't do it with them.

I believe that confidence is the cornerstone to success. Don't get me wrong, I understand that sometimes people can have bad days or times of self-doubt, but I do believe that you need to have faith in yourself to accomplish the things you set out to do.

Confidence isn’t always easy, and you’ll have to constantly work at it all the time before you can stand up and declare that you love who you are. You have to be confident in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined. But be careful not to let your confidence turn to arrogance and If you really want to improve your confidence in life or in business then here are 5 ways you can get started.

1. Learn Learn Learn: You have to learn to add value to yourself. The more you know, the more you feel comfortable sharing your skills and knowledge with the world. No one can know everything, but through educating yourself, you can unlock your confidence. You can educate yourself by reading books in the area of your business industry, you can take continuing education classes in your community or online. Some online learning is even free.

2. Celebrate your achievements: Force yourself to recognize when you achieve something and make sure you celebrate your accomplishment. Rather than telling yourself you could have done better, push that thought out of your mind and focus on what you did. I always spoil myself a little whenever I accomplish a target that I had set for myself.

3. Stop beating yourself up: Hand in hand with celebration is the need to stop beating yourself when you don't achieve your goals or when you make a mistake. There are always things that you could do better, but that doesn’t minimize the things that you did well to begin with. When you feel that internal dialogue start up, distract yourself with learning, celebrating or volunteering.

4. Exercise and eat well: Physical health is an important component to strong mental health and self-confidence. Don’t neglect your exercise and healthy eating routines just because you’re feeling a little less than confident. These will help you stay on track and keep at it. It will also boost the happy hormones which will make self-confidence come a little easier every day.

5. Ask for help: Finally, the best tool you can have when it comes to boosting your self-confidence is smart, intelligent, helpful people around to support and encourage you. Don’t believe for a minute that you can do everything on your own. The right network is extremely important, so build a team that elevates you while you help elevate them.Don't let self-doubt creep in where it doesn’t belong.

What can you do in your life starting today to boost your self-confidence?
